Leap 1 – Week 1 – Activities
1️⃣ Physical Development
Activity Name: Ball Push Race
Description: Place a soft ball on the floor and ask the child to push it using only their hands or tummy from one point to another (e.g., from sofa to wall). Cheer along and repeat 2–3 rounds. You may add fun variations like pushing backward or stopping midway on command.
Objective: Improve gross motor strength, coordination, and body control.
Frequency: 2 times this week
2️⃣ Cognitive Development
Activity Name: Sorting Snacks by Shape
Description: Use snack pieces such as round (cereal loops), square (crackers), long (breadsticks). Ask the child to place them in separate bowls based on shape. Allow tasting at the end as a reward. Keep the tone playful rather than instructional.
Objective: Build early categorization, visual discrimination and problem-solving skills.
Frequency: 1 time this week
3️⃣ Emotional & Social Development
Activity Name: Feelings Mirror Time
Description: Sit in front of a mirror with the child and make faces showing emotions — happy, sad, angry, sleepy, surprised. Ask the child to imitate and name each emotion. End with a warm hug and ask, “How do you feel right now?”
Objective: Develop emotional awareness and understanding of facial expressions.
Frequency: 3 times this week
4️⃣ Language & Communication
Activity Name: Object Naming Basket
Description: Fill a basket with familiar household items — spoon, sock, comb, ball, cup. Ask the child to pick one object, name it, and use it in a short action (e.g., combing hair, throwing ball). Repeat until all objects are used.
Objective: Expand vocabulary and improve word-to-object association.
Frequency: 4 times this week
